We are going from Girne to Famagusta for the day and wondered if anyone can suggest somewhere for lunch as we do not know the area at all. We will be going down to Palm Beach so anywhere along that main road down to the monument roundabout or not far from it or near Palm Beach Hotel would be good.. We will probably also be in the Larnaca Rd area as an alternative (going to the fabric wharehouse).
Don't mind what sort of food we have but nowhere that is Hotel pricey. Thanks
Famagusta - any reccommendations for lunch ?

I always go to Petek. the food is fine, sometimes even excellent( love their Melemen), never had anything terrible. I love the atmosphere, inside is most curious, they have birds in a cage, turtles in an indoor fountain, lots of pictures, lovely roof terrace, they also sell more different kind of baklava, cakes and sweet than anybody else. Fabulous ice cream. People on 'Cyprus Now' have also recommended it a while ago. It's situated by the old city wall by the harbour. I walk down the road to the left of the big old mosque/church(Lala Mustafa). It's at the bottom of that road on the left. just before on the right there is a car park . I'm not a driver, so not sure how to get into this car park.

A little way from the monument roundabout but not too far is Johnny Rockets American diner, and next door to that is Armagon(sp) Kebab Restaurant. Both great places for lunch. To find them, go along main road towards Salamis and they are on the right half a mile past the Mosque Roundabout. Another good choice is EKOR, behind the European Hotel. From the Larnaka road turn left at Monument Roundabout and then left just after the European Hotel.

Do not know the name of this place even though I must have eaten there a thousand times; make your way towards Peteks from the bridge entering the Old city, when you get to the narrow walkway of shops it is on the right. They do the most amazing pizzas at reasonable prices. After lunch there, then make your way to Peteks for coffee and deserts. I do it everytime I visit the Old City - hence my weight.
