Drivers licence renewal

My drivers licence had to be renewed this month...was told it only takes a week! got there with all forms,photos,etc paid my money,and told to come back in one month!!any one know if this is correct or did the young lady at the desk get her weeks& months mixed up??

Question is, who initially told you it would be a week? Obviously nobody from the licence office..

It is like residency, at busy times it will take longer than quiet, varies between 2 to 4 weeks from my experiences.

she will have given you receipt for the old licence if you get stopped you just show them that that covers you
