Meet Donkey! Ice's bday present and new addition to family.

Introducing Donkey (yes, thats his name)...

Ice is thrilled to have such a birthday present...

Oh how lovely. When I was a little girl my Uncle bought me a miniature donkey and a Shetland pony. Your pics have brought back lots of wonderful memories. Lucky Ice!!

We had our first walk all together today

Everybody is adjusting nicely.

Donkey is having his own section of the yard where he can walk around freely, which will be completed tomorrow.

You are a great dad to all your family, and am looking forward to seeing everyone, and won't forget the carrots for Donkey. Donkeys are lovely and an added bonus is your roses will grow well. (What is a homie?)

He looks gorgeous I also love donkeys, but thank God we are not trying to rehome him. If Max grows anymore he will soon be as big!!

Well, Donkey is a bit taller for sure, but weightwise I think not much difference already.

Also, I tried Max's old collar on and it is too big for Donkey

We are now building Donkey's enclosure outside, but the wind is not helping much.

I also picked up a small saddle for Donkey. Its wildwildwest style, perfect match for a Cypriot donkey from the east of Cyprus .

I will wait for Stella to come tomorrow till we try it on (Stella, this means you come prepared )

Donkey's new home is finished. He needs to stay tied up just one more day for the cement to dry up, he is already cleaning up all the grass from his new home.

We had another short walk today but it was way too windy... I think everybody is adjusting nicely...

Went up this morning and saw everyone and what a lovely happy home it is. Kemal was just coming back from walking everyone "off leash". Donkey's new enclosure is fine for him and he has a big shed where he can go to get out of the wet and cold or sun and heat. We put the saddle on him and he was amazing, not at all bothered. Walked him around for a bit with it undone, and then did it up loosely and he was fine, and I have to say Ice and Max of course were a great help. Max felt he'd done enough so went off when we took pictures. but they had been running around and offering advice. Please remember Kemal is still looking for a home for the other dog that was dumped on him. She is very sweet, rather quiet, and I think will be glad to get away from the 2 boisterous boys and Donkey. It all looked a bit much for her. I took the dog flap up for Ice and Max's new room that has been added on to the house, and now Kemal just has to teach them how to use it.

As I was driving away down the mountain, I realized I was smiling, and that is just how you feel when you see such happy animals. Kemal should be proud of the happy family he has created.

Thanks Carol, it was so nice to see them all getting on so well, and I couldn't believe Donkey, such a gentle patient Donkey and not at all bothered about Ice and Max running all around him.

Max was quite impressed with a properly trained human visiting the house today. Starting from the toys, biscuits, putting up with constant nagging, and then proper scratch ritual, it was much better than expected... Max said it usually takes several visits of a human until him and Ice train the human properly to do everything they wanted... Ice on the other hand, was proud that the human he had trained earlier was doing so well still...

Overall, both Max and Ice, even the donkey was pleased. Stella is definitely on 'come whenever you feel like scratching us' list!

Certainly save on dog food bills if they like to graze on grass!!. When Max finally got off me, my legs had gone to sleep !:)

Usually, when my dogs graze on grass, they spew up an hour later, look out!!!Could mean an upset tum.

Yes Dawn it does make a nice change. Most of the animal stories on here are very sad, so it's good to have some fun stories on animals, and to see them enjoying themselves. I do think Kemal should come up with a better name for Donkey. Suggestions please.
