Free Furniture of sorts for collection from Ozankoy!
There is currently a load of furniture of sorts (nothing flashy and that is why it is free!) sitting in the front garden of a cottage that I recently purchased complete with all the contents, most of which I do not want...
I had a bit of an experience this week in that a friend (who has a Turkish friend of the Shirley Valentine variety), said that he would clear the stuff from the house for free. The men came and emptied the house of all the stuff I did not want and took one pick up truck load and said they would be back for the second! Then I got a frantic mail from my friend saying these men were now demanding a load of money. I said that was not the deal, (she too knew that was not the deal as she had arranged this!), but actually I would have been happy to give them some beer money of say 50 lira, but they were now demanding way more! Anyway they did not come back for the rest of the stuff, and yesterday I thought to move back inside the stuff left out in the garden for the second pick up, only to my horror they had brought back all the stuff they had taken in the first load and dumped that back in the garden too! I said they could have it for free, as whilst I might get a few lira for some of the pieces, it really was not worth the hassle for me, but now I have a lot of hassle with a garden looking like a local tip!
Items are:
1 painted white old chest of drawers, with a knob now off one drawer as they slung that back in the garden in bits
1 metal chest full of bits including some fairly decent men's clothes and other things I had sorted out for this bunch of wallies... (big chest ok covered in drape or put in a shed)
1 large wooden chest but of the chipboard type good for tools or toys, you could paint it
1 small bookcase of veneer chipboard type
1 large sideboard type lock up cupboard (I would not have it in my house but has shelf inside and comes with key)
2 x pretty yukky white bedside cabinets that have clearly seen better days
2 x long coffee tables that had been used as the base for a makeshift bed
planks for the makeshift bed
1 x single homemade bed frame with planks arrangement
Large pieces of foam like you would use to wash a car that were the mattresses
A couple of very old white sunbeds perhaps been in sun too long
Some old plastic white chairs
Tel: 0533 8693721
Oh and inside the house are a couple of new airbeds, foot pumps, a new large tent from what I can see, and various other things that I could likely sell, and plenty of books! Now without a bookshelf as that is in the garden!

Hi,
We will call later as we are always looking for table top goods to sell (that is if you have any?)
Unfortunately we will not be able to help re most of your furniture as it would be too large for us on our Chateau Lambousa stall.

Can I come and look at the sideboard please? I need one to use as an outside shoe cupboard.

FREE STUFF & SALE OF SOME OTHER ITEMS
I shall be at this property from 11am TODAY, Sunday 13th April until likely 5pm.
There is stuff inside the house too that I do not want, such as airbeds, bed linen, large tent, loads of books, all sorts.
So if you are interested in the free stuff or buying stuff, drop in! It currently looks a wreck from the outside, but looks can be deceiving! In a couple of months time it will be completely transformed and available for holiday lets complete with plunge pool offering visitors a very unique Cypriot experience.
DIRECTIONS:
Go around the Ozankoy one way system until you reach a turning RIGHT "Catalkoy Yolu Caddesi". Very narrow with a couple of mirrors on the wall as only wide enough for one car for a few yards. This then becomes the road that goes to Catalkoy past the Five Finger Bungalows.... Just so you know if you are coming from the other direction.
Just after you have turned right there past the mirrors, you will see a white building on your right with outside plaster looking bad and brown wooden shutters in poor condition.... This is the house. It is the one before the pink old house (with an Aphrodite Bros for sale sign on it). Park up where you can (50 metres past there is a large apartment building and plenty of parking to the side of that).
The front entrance to the property is easily found just up a lane to the front of the cottage. It has a garden gate and a very overgrown garden, but welcome to come and have a look! My phone is a bit dodgy and not easy to charge.

Re: Free Furniture of sorts for collection from Ozankoy!
Thanks to everyone who came around this morning to clear most of this stuff.
However I was very upset to see on my arrival at 10.45 that someone has already been around and helped themselves to a chest of drawers AND some white plastic garden chairs that I had promised to Mo alias "Carboot".
It is not nice to trespass on someone's property and help oneself like that. Poor Mo arrived at 1pm to find no chairs for her and the chest could possibly have been restored by someone else who came here for me.
Whomever has taken these white chairs I promised them to Mo at the Pinebay Carboot last night, and as for the chest, frankly that was totally out of order! You could have had the decency to phone whomever you are!
