Strange telephone number

Anyone recognise this number, or know what type of number it is?

We are getting constant calls here in Germany from it, but when we answer there is only silence or a continuous tone.

I have had some odd ones with different country codes, but never bothered answering them.

Just caught a voice on the end of that number. Speaking German, wanting to speak to my Wife.

Asked him why they were using an apparently Turkish number, he muttered something about the Internet.

As soon as I asked him why he wanted to speak to my Wife, he hung up. Hopefully, that will be the last call. What we usually do with these nuisance calls, and many of them originate from what appear to be genuine German numbers, but are not, we answer without speaking and just lay the handset down for a while. This seems to work the trick.

Did you ever work for a telecom company? I worked for British Telecom for 28 years and that was always the advice of how to deal with nuisance calls!!It also costs them money,and ties up their line,so they can't do it again,if it is a phone line,of course!
