Since Thursday, I cannot watch BBC iplayer nor operate Facetime on my iPad 2, which is still on IOS4.3 as I haven't been brave enough to risk upgrading! (Loss of some data, I have been told.)
Is anyone else experiencing similar problems? It has worked perfectly for the last 3 years, so what has happened?
Can anyone help please?

I upgraded mine and didn't have any problems or loss of data.

If you haven't changed anything - sounds more like a problem with ISP/VPN to me. Which ISP are you with?

Thank you Erol for your information.
I understand the issue relating to Iplayer, but is the same problem preventing me from using Facetime? Not a techie so not sure of the linkages you refer to also included reference to Facetime.
Incidentally I am with Multimax and the VPN seems to be working OK.
Many thanks

There would seem to be reports, starting around the 17th of this month, of facetime not working for those who have not updated to the latest version of iOS (7). This would seem to be a different issue from the iplayer / sky go one, in that updating to iOS7 solves the issue with facetime, where as the iplayer/sky go issue is not related to the version of iOS you are using (as far as I can tell from the media reports).Joe Soap wrote:Thank you Erol for your information.

Hi Erol,
Once again many thanks for the info. It seems that upgrading the software is the only current answer to get access to Facetime etc, but at the possible loss of apps. (There has been some information on possible loss of apps and I do have a lot of apps.) May hold on to see if Apple decides to resolve the problem on earlier versions without upgrading for the moment.
Erol, once again many thanks.
