Could anyone tell me pleas whether the atlasjet Luton to Ercan flights require a change of plane in Istanbul? Or do we just wait on board?

Plus if they see fit you may have to change planes, when they were operating from Stansted I had to change planes on 3 occasions without notice, twice outbound and once inbound ,would not fly with them again.

Every airline is expensive for us as we are flying from Dublin! We've tried most combinations, and the Ryanair/Atlasjet combo is actually the most reasonable for July this year. We always prefer Turkish Airlines, but their July prices and their huge stopovers on the Dublin route are putting us off!

We always fly Dublin--Ercan, but book early through Skyscanner, we always get cheapish flights, but we are prepared to suffer the stopover.

Thanks very much henry_vox ; I look forward to your update based on how your family get on.......although judging by davedee's experience, it may all change by July!

I have just booked flights for end of June to UK coming back to Cyprus on 16th July. My understanding is that you do not change planes. In fact, there is only 55 mins to take off again, so highly unlikely there would be time. I found the prices extremely good for the time of year at almost £200 cheaper than flying into Birmingham with Turkish Airlines. Will have to wait and see what it is actually like, but on the face of it sounds good to me.

Hi Cog it could change on the day without notice on our return journey we was taken off a A320 and transported round what felt like the entire perimeter of the airport in a bus and then kept in the bus (standing) for a further 20 mins whilst they prepared an A319,whilst boarding I tackled the extremely rude operations guy ,who explained it was an operational decision ......the A320 was nowhere near full so they put us on a A319. I hope you all do not suffer the same .

Flew with them to Istanbul Ataturk last October. Admittedly only a short flight but we found them very good - comfortable seats, on-time, pleasant cabin crew, meal included and 25kg baggage allowance.

Anyone got an answer on this? Booked my son Ercan to Luton in September and when I booked I thought it was the same plane for the whole route. Looking at the ticket, there is a little red cross against the Istanbul Luton leg and below it says the little red cross means transfer - bit worried now as it's only 1 hour at Ataturk and he's never done it before.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_flight

"A direct flight in the aviation industry is any flight between two points by an airline with no change in flight numbers, which may include a stop at an intermediate point.[1] The stop over may either be to get new passengers (or allow some to disembark) or a mere technical stop over (i.e., for refuelling). Direct flights are often confused with non-stop flights, which are flights involving no intermediate stops.[2] When there is a change in flight number, the subsequent flight is referred to as a connecting flight."
