My worst meal ever.
Tried the Hawaii rastaurant yesterday under its new management and have never ever seen or eaten such a bad meal. I can only assume the chef was off duty and someone else cooked it. 20 of us sat down for a pre ordered meal so they had ample time 3 weeks to prepare. The menu was soup followed by steak, chicken, fish or moussaka.. No one knew what the lukewarm soup was. The fish was still frozen in the middle and raw. The moussaka had no topping and was not cooked. The chicken was cold and undercooked and the fillet steak must have been from the shoulder as it had so much gristle in it about half was gristle. The chips and veg along with the steak were cold. I could not understand how so much was wrong with one meal.some eat nothing some a little but it was a disaster. Also I along with a few other spent rather a long time on the loo later. We did tell the manager who did not offer any excuse for it. I do hope they sort it as I have had some nice meals there in the past.

Re: My worst meal ever.
I sincerely hope you didn't pay. If it was as bad as you say, then if you paid, they won't get the message and think that what they served is OK to serve in the future. There are ways to putting this across, just walking out en masse would have probably had them calling the police!!

We could not walk out as we had a speaker after the meal and some did not pay but you know Brits pay but don,t come back.

Just shrugged and said they were sorry then walked off leaving the barman to take the flak

And there lies the problem, we just shrug our shoulders instead of being man enough to confront the manager/owner/whoever and refuse to pay, what are they going to do about it, phone the police if you walk out without paying? Come one, man up. I dislike the yanks but they won't put up with it!

Totally agree, I am not a 'pushy' person but if I was presented with food that didn't ''look good'' then I would not attempt to eat it.starlitdragstar wrote:And there lies the problem, we just shrug our shoulders instead of being man enough to confront the manager/owner/whoever and refuse to pay, what are they going to do about it, phone the police if you walk out without paying? Improperly cooked food is a danger to health.
I would have asked to speak to the person in charge at the time and pointed out to them what the problems where.
They give you food which was obviously not fit for consumption, so you don't pay for what you haven't eaten and leave it, why would the police need to be involved?
I would have thought more a case for the public health department.

Blue Butterfly - I agree that he police shouldn't be involved, but I bet my boots that if a restaurant owner/manager thought that 20 Brits (?) were going to make a fuss and possibily walk out without paying, he or she would call them out. I've seen them called out for less than that. I totally agree about the Public Health Department. They'll shut a place with immediate affect if they think it necessary and they make it public as well!!

Re: My worst meal ever.
Funny how you come on here to advise people on a bed experience to stop them having the same one. The food was crap we did tell the owner so he would know and hopefully buck his ideas up. Some of us did not pay. We stayed for a very interesting talk that we were all looking forward to ,will the 20 of us be going back no. As for calling the police why would I as for the health department the experience I have had here would be they are not interested. If they were why are so many places selling the food in the conditions they do . Thanks for the replies the next time I will let you find out yourselves !!

Thanks Terry for the warning. Never been there, but will definitely give it a miss, until I hear good reports.

Do they not have a web site where you can leave comments for all to see.
That would make them think twice .

I don't thnk anyone suggested that you personally call the polce. The suggestion was that the owner/manager might call them out if there was a mass walk out of customers not paying their bills.

Thanks for the heads up Terry. Not my side of town but always assumed it had some sort of identity crisis, I think the sign says Hawaii, lebanese cuisine. Bit like Bollywood, Mexican and European, they later added Indian to the sign but it is all a bit bonkers.

Am I correct in thinking that the guy that owns it also runs the dodgy looking nightclub 'rose aphrodite' on the mountain rd?

Terry-Never been to either(Honest),but from what I've read about the 'Hawaii',I think I would have had a better night at the 'Aphrodite'
At least the meat at the Aphrodite would have been Hot.
