Won't happen till they finish the hotel.

2.500 beds. When it's finished look out for massive power cuts. 2.500 Air Cons all going on at once it the summer.dodger wrote:The 2,500 bed one ?waddo wrote:Won't happen till they finish the hotel.

'Direct' does not necessarily mean 'non-stop', simply that you don't have to get off the plane if it lands somewhere en route...

Re: Here we go again.
Don't worry about the 2,500 beds - there are no windows in the place yet - and the 2,500 air cons all going on at once. Worry more about, they won't open it till the power station has been moved! That probably won't happen till the electricity from Turkey gets here along with the water!
The road to Alagadi will also be a very interesting one to drive along but not with your windows open once the 2,500 beds and their individual toilets come into full use - just how big do you think the septic tank will be - Mediterranean size with yet another failing outflow system to deliver "Jobbies" all along the coast line.
Happy days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have two lots of guests coming over this summer and they both thought they were on direct flights. Have had to explain that it just means they don't have to get off the plane. How can these plane operators keep getting away with this "direct" flights business? It's just cheating as far as I can see.

Sophie, I think that it's just a mis-understanding of the meaning, not a deliberate attempt to mislead.
A train or bus may go direct from Hull to London, without the passengers having to get off and board another vehicle, but it will still stop at various points along the way to drop-off and pick-up other people. It doesn't make it any less 'direct'. If I want the fastest journey, I will choose a non-stop or express service...
There are various ways to travel from UK to TRNC that do involve changing 'planes at one (or more!) points along the route - in fact there are a lot more of those than there are 'direct' ones - and on some of 'em, you have to buy a Visa for the country in which you change 'planes!
No Airline can currently operate a non-stop flight to TRNC from any Country except Turkey, as TRNC and it's airport are not recognized as being legal entities according to UN resolutions (and, no doubt, other institutions as well). Still, roll on the day

Not so bad, you know!
You can tell 'em all about buses and trains from 'Ull, can't you?
(we do seem to be wandering off into La-La land here, well away from the original topic!)

Herein lies the confusion...
I'm just happy to be here, and that I can come and go by one means or another!

Hey Keith, Non Stop & Direct ferry's are still operating from here to Turkey its a start - lol.
Once there (Turkey) you can catch a direct train to UK as well, its like magic mate!!!
Question: If you drive from Girne to London, is that a direct drive???

That's it!
I hereby officially declare that this thread has followed the Forum 'law' which dictates that after a certain number of posts, all threads inevitably degenerate into nonsense (or wander off into La-La land, as I said earlier). It could be that it's only threads which I get involved in, of course...
Anyway, I think that the sun is now over the yardarm (it's bound to be, somewhere) so it's time for a quick
and it's goodbye from me.

Better to wait 40 minutes on the tarmac than lay over for 6 hours at Istanbul.sophie wrote:We have two lots of guests coming over this summer and they both thought they were on direct flights. Better not to be on board the plane whilst it is being refueled on the ground - just one spark and all your time saving goes up in flames.
