How terrible, I do hope they rescue more people as quickly as possible. That is one of my worst nightmares to be trapped under ground..

Re: Turkey Mine Blast
According to last numbers (and Erdogan speaking) the number of dead at the moment is 232 and climbing. One is a 15 year old boy who is supposed to have gone down the mine with an Uncle (I think) to see what it was like. I hope that part of the report is incorrect.

Re: Turkey Mine Blast
Sadly Sophie this is a fact. My TC hubby has been tuned into the live Turkish news channel and it is heartbreaking.
Apart from the over 200 dead there are at least 100 still trapped, feared dead.
I don't suppose that any of the families will read this but condolences to them.
Eroglu has declared 3 days of mourning in the TRNC with flags at half mast.
God rest their souls.

Re: Turkey Mine Blast
301 confirmed dead and 24 mine managers etc arrested, better late than never. Too late to save them, but may prevent future tragedies.
