Worth a listen I think, if you interested in this kind of thing. Sorry if this has already been posted here

It is interesting but I find most of the argument contained it the program to be obfuscation... littered with high-sounding sound bites. Typical of self-anointed philosophers trying to sound deep and meaningful and yet avoiding any semblance of regret over their or their community's part in what went so terribly wrong... we were all getting on working, playing and eating together and blah blah blah...Really? Sounds more like rose-tinted memories fogged with generations of excuses that have become the stuff of legend.. Most of it is shear rubbish dressed up in romantic terms with soppy music playing in the background to make it seem heart-felt and meaningful - when what we are talking actually about is murderous thugs waging war on innocent men, women and children in an attempt to get their own way.

Everything is always somebody else's fault and the headmaster is worst of all....unfortunately it's people teaching this type of self-serving view of history that long-term will not serve the people well.

Any 'freedom fighters' who turn on their own people have no right to the label.... OK they objected to British Rule... I can see that - but their tactics make them nothing more or less than brutal terrorists. A campaign of terror waged on anyone who disagreed with their methods does not advocate a status of local hero to me.

I can see that many Cypriot people would like a united Cyprus but to do so at the expense of truth is a recipe for disaster... A Truth and Reconciliation Commission like that in post-apartheid South Africa that has achieved so much to heal old wounds just might have a chance of bringing the communities together in a meaningful and long-lasting way... Otherwise do you not think old scores will still rear their heads and attempts made for them to be settled?

S W Baker - Cyprus AS I Saw It - 1878
"The Greek element is generally combustible, and before the first year of our occupation had expired various causes of discontent awakened Philhellenic aspirations; a society was organised under the name of the "Cypriote Fraternity," as a political centre from which emissaries would be employed for the formation of clubs in various districts with the object of inspiring the population with the noble desire of adding Cyprus to the future Greek kingdom."

It's hardly a new thing...
