Re: i Belli Restaurant
Went to this restaurant last night for the first time, and cannot believe how come we have not been before. It is fantastic!!! Some may think a little pricey, but compared to good Italian restaurants in the UK it is not. Compared to mezes and kebabs yes it might look pricey, but you get what you pay for which is top class cuisine. The owner is also the Chef and the setting is lovely. I was transported back to Sorrento!! Much aggrieved though because we have missed out on what promises to be a fantastic gourmet evening this Wednesday. Fully booked. It is Emiliano's birthday, and his friends all chefs from other I belli restaurants in Turkey and Italy and coming to cook. How I wish we had known about it, would be there like a shot. The food is gorgeous, and they do some lovely Sicilian wine, but a huge selection of all wines. Cannot speak highly enough about it. For all good food lovers, who don't mind lashing out with a bit of money for quality.....it is a must. I promised my husband I would not post this, as he says it might mean next time we want to go.....it will be full!!! But, I like to share good experiences so there we go.

It is in the old Turkish quarter of Girne. Used to be the Sele restaurant. Added bonus is, it has a large carpark! It is just up from number 14 restaurant. Don't know if that helps, but hope it does tomsteel.

Once you are in the Turkish Quarter all the restaurants are signposted. First rate, classy restaurant for a special occasion.

Kiplet, turn up the side of the fire station, opposite the post office, and you will be heading to the old quarter. Keep going for maybe 200 yards or so and you will be directed right by a sign for I belli. The restaurant is on the right opposite a butchers and has a good car parking facility. Hope that you manage to find it, it is well signposted.

Yes from the carpark go across the road to where the phoneboxes are and opposite the post office and go along that street towards the old quarter. You will see Pasabache Restaurant on the corner of road running to the left. Then follow the instructions I gave previously. Best to phone and book though as they do seem to get busy. They are fully booked for the special night on Wednesday. Hope this helps.
