Central Heating

We are moving to TRNC next year and want to install central heating when we come for our holidays in September

Does anybody know the best system to install and a reputable installer

Finally any idea of costs for 4 bedroom villa

Go for radiators, I know there old fashion but far more controllable than under floor. Try SGC they are in the Buzz Book

Expensive to run and achieves very little in houses that are full of ceramics / marble and are built with no insulation.

Like thornaby says Phorrent VERY expensive to run and in my opinion not worth the aggravation of installing and cost of running, last time we had our tank filled it cost 2,000tl and the gas didn't last that long, probably worth having as a selling point but not to run as a main heating system.

Not wishing to be pedantic Carbotec but as you are SGC why not be open about it? We have oil central heating but proper double cavity walls & good windows it is brilliant the house is lovely & cosy. When it is really cold we have it on around 5 hours a night & have only had it on around 4 times in the morning in 9 years. You have to buy motor diesel which is expensive we pay around £50-£60 a week when we have it on.

We have a fairly large house built with ytong not open plan and our gas probably costs us about 1500tl per year and that includes using the central heating all winter, we don't go to solar for the water till June. Baykam at Bellapais roundabout fitted it, having had a new boiler in UK recently I don't think it was a lot more expensive thanUK and after service has been good. Things do need yearly maintenance though because of hardness of water. We also have a log Burner and that is brilliant.

We have a 4 bedroomed villa bought from new 7 years ago. We paid an additional £2.5K for oil fired central heating. What a disaster! It cost us £1000 to run for 3 months in the first winter. The second winter it broke down due to condensation in the oil storage tank and we then decided not to bother with any further expense. Had a good log burner fitted and make do with that and 2 gas fires in the winter months now.

Dream castle runs their central heating radiators off a log burner device if I remember right
Also I remember in the UK that the hot water in one house we lived in was generated bya bouler at the back of thecoal fire had to use an emersion heater in summer
Are there proprietory log burners that so central heating systems?

It was my first posting and I was concerned I would vanish into the ether but I know not that gas or oil Central heating is not the way to go

We had gas central heating installed when we renovated our bungalow and the pipes to the rads run under the floor. So in effect have under floor heating too. No it's not cheap but we have no damp which some gas fires cause. Also have a wood burner to take chill off before heating goes on.
