Yes of course, but depends why you want to cross there. Nothing the other side. Don't even know if there are buses, and don't remember seeing much by way of taxis. But nothing to sotp pedestrians. You can of course always park your car this side if you don't have insurance etc, and go your way .

Handy little supermarket, just opposite the race course on the other side!! Easy walking and you can leave/park your car on the North side as well - no insurance just be careful of the heat!
