Can't argue with that, dogs fed and approaching G&T time. At least we are not complaining about things, except we can't find Monty a new forever loving home. But at least it keeps bringing him bttt

Master Monty . laid back boy, is still in situ with us and our four!. Family and friends start arriving tomorrow for visits for the next few weeks, so it is definitely going to be a full house! NO MORE ROOM AT THE VILLA!!!
We still believe that there is a special someone or family who could give 'Monty' his forever home. He would give so much back!!!

Could you not persuade a friend or family member to fall in love with him and take him home. I don't mean in their suitcase, but legally. bttt

When he met some of our friends cats, he was absolutely fine, did not bother with them at all! He has got such a gentle nature to anyone and anything, although he does like a play rough and tumble with our other dogs, especially Joe Cocker!

owl lady, i am using everything in my power to convince the hubby. he is usually very cooperative (in the sense that i typically get what i want ) but there are a few issues that requires a little more work. but i am not giving up!! my little fur ball loves to play, so it sounds like monty would be the perfect match. especially since he does not get bothered by cats because i have quite a few. i try to re-home as many stray cats as possible. incidentally, i had never had cats until i moved here, and never imagined just how loving and cuddly some of these strays can be!

If we can help to solve any of the issues, we would gladly do so! We have offered to have the 'Monty' man, for time spent away etc:
Just still hoping that we can find him a Home and Family of his own!

Re: Wished we had gone to Lemar- not Supreme!!!
it's a work in progress, and i think i am seeing signs of mellowing. i understand his concern in that we move around a fair bit due to his work and he is concerned with the cost and hurdles of transporting pets into different countries. the problem is that i already think of monty as mine, so my hope is that i can have him by this weekend. my own little fur ball is scheduled for the dreaded snip this friday and I wanted to bring a new dog in after the procedure has been done. i am really hoping to contact bigbadbob by friday with a final YES...but want to make sure that my other half is on board before i do this. i have a bad track record of bringing the pets home first, and notifying him after the fact i kind of promised not to do that anymore....
i am hoping i can take bigbadbob up on his offer to help and ask if he can drop monty off as i do not currently have transportation...but i do not want to get ahead of myself. fingers crossed!!!!!

Every thing crossed and tell your other half how eternally grateful every one will be, especially Monty.
I know bigbadbob and Wendy will keep their promise to help out with looking after him when required.

Re: Wished we had gone to Lemar- not Supreme!!!
Update folks on Monty. We are no longer looking for a home for him. Local family claimed he was the 2/3year old dog they lost 2months ago. Would not or could not give us any proof, they had involved the police and the situation was becoming very nasty! Monty did not recognise them and vice versa. 2 vets confirmed he was no more than 9months old, even putting in in writing as proof. Police and family did not want to know. This could be because one of the members of the family is a High Court Judge.
We were ordered to the police station at short notice but luckily we were able to take with us a good friend who Wendy works with at the Cancer Shop. She was able to translate for us but to no avail. One officer actually warned her that she could be in trouble for being '' not on their side'
All we want is for Monty to be cared for, happy and safe.
Please everyone who uses the road up the hill from The Fez, look out for him to make sure he is ok.
Also anyone who uses the restaurant (Clue... ''Slim Shady, U.S. White Rapper) check on him there, as this is the family involved.
We were intimidated, verbally and physically threatened!

That sounds terrible! What an ordeal for you and Wendy, and her friend!
Wonder if they'll suddenly remember about their long-lost labrador next, and come after us?

I can only imagine how Bob and Wendy must of felt reporting to the police never mind being interviewed by them.
So I have two question for all the members on here, and I am not digging KAR out.
Q1, When KAR go round and pick up the stray dogs do they have to file a report to the police?
Q2, The people who claimed Monty did they have him registered/ tagged and vets documentation to say that he had all vaccinations, if not then why weren't they taken to account?
Anyone with a bit of higher knowledge on the law/rules maybe able to answer these question please.
Mr Mac

Re: Wished we had gone to Lemar- not Supreme!!!
i heard that through the grapevine yesterday and was heartbroken. i sincerely hope that Monty is loved and cared for. the fact that he did not recognize them is proof enough that he could not be their dog, because even several years later a dog will recognize someone they care for.
i am sorry that you were treated so poorly despite doing a noble deed. i wish there was a way to right this wrong, but if you cannot go to the police, then who can you go to?
maybe monty will find his way back to you...and then to me....

Reply to MrMac.
We asked to police to ask the family for the yearly registration documents, as they claimed to have had him over two years. Also for Vet's inoculation's and even family photo's with the dog - Response from the police was that they did not have to ask the family for anything. The family even accused us of bribing the vet, who had confirmed our thoughts on his age. He did the operation and his genitals had only just dropped, no way his body was that of a more mature dog. He should know!!!

I hope you have settled down again after that terrible experience and as you know that there are a lot of people on here who appreciate all the hard work that you do with all the dogs you find and the amount of money you have spent on them.
I know one little dog who really did appreciate you given her a chance of a new life.
Both of you take care

Re: Wished we had gone to Lemar- not Supreme!!!
Just wondered if anyone had used the restaurant (Clue 2 - brightly coloured, hard sugar coated, chocolate on the inside sweets!!!) in Catalkoy and had seen Monty. If so, was he looking happy and well?
We are finding it very hard to switch off from him and feel very guilty for showing him ''family'' life which he so loved and now he is living the 'Cypriot Dog's life'. Both of us are just hoping he is doing whatever they expect from him and therefore not getting into any trouble.
Please everyone keep your eyes open for him and let us know - anything !!!

I don't use that eating place, but have driven around the area every other day and the only dog I have seen is an Alsatian in the garden at the end opposite the restaurant.
You cant beat yourselves up for showing him a family life, you did the right thing at the time, a good thing. Fingers crossed that he is being looked after properly, perhaps who ever has him now know that the police/you have been involved and wouldn't dare mistreat him.
