Classic Car Museum
I have repeated this from another forum cos I think it is worth publicising.
Have you been? If not well worth a visit, an ideal place to go in this heat!!!!
It is part of the Near East University complex and is a private collection that includes 2 cars that belonged to Dr Fazil Kucuk.
We were amazed at some of the vehicles in the 60 or so collection with Ferarris, Merc, BMW, plus some real classic marks from when Britain was king including a couple of Jowitt Javelins, 1955 Morris Minor, Riley, Wolsley, Austin etc whose names are long gone. Plus Morgan, Jaguar and some American beasts. Remember the Ford Escort 2000RS Mexico, Beetles, the list goes on.
Not easy to find cos the signposts are few, but look for Klasik Arac Muze. From Girne, left at big roundabout then left towards Near East Uni just past Hidden Garden Restaurant. Take left at first roundabout then best I can say is look for the red Massey Harris farm tractor on your left. The only other indication on the building is a sign above the door that says Muze. There is plenty of parking and if like us, you will be the only ones there, it is another hidden gem that needs more publicity.
Check out the web site for times etc - http://www.neu.edu.tr/en/node/4329
There is a young man doing some mechanicing who will take 10tl each off you.
There is not much in the way of signage but if you are interested you will not need signs. Also at the moment there are some almost new cars there that we can not figure if they are owned or part of the collection. Masserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mercedes, enough to ensure you will need a drink afterwards because of all the drooling

Re: Classic Car Museum
The simplest route is the one I have given above, travelling from Girne to Lefkosa.
If you come from Gazi Magusa direction you turn right just past Attaturk Stadium and the military parade viewing point. This is across the flow of traffic and may be easier to do the extra half mile to the Gonyeli roundabout and double back on route given.

Re: Classic Car Museum
As this is the second time this week my attention has been drawn to this, I think I am getting a message that I had better investigate. I already had a note to follow up, so I reckon I must away , armed with camera and take a look. No young chikldren or grandchildren, but I certainly like to drool at certain cars. Pity there is no hands on experience in it all.
