renewing uk passport in trnc

Does anyone have up to date information about renewing a uk passport from trnc? I have read through the previous posts on this and am confused. Is it still possible to renew from here or not? If it is possible how do I go about it? Thanks

You need to download and print off the form applying from abroad from the uk passport website fill in and then take it to cafe boss in kyrenia near the HSBC bank who will send iit by courier or may be best to go and see the chap at cafe boss first as he is a very helpful chap. I think some things have changed since I done mine as it is now returned to cafe boss and I don't think you now have to send your old passport.

There are delays at the Passport Offices in UK. Lots of debate this morning, Government denies any problems and says it's due to demand. Some people getting their passports in 2 weeks if straightforward and some are waiting up to 10 weeks. So best to find out what the situation is regarding applying from NC.

Steve at Cafe Boss will advise you as to exactly what happens.
It does not go to UK it goes to Belfast in Ireland with DHL and you can follow it on the internet.

Hi Crofter I may be wrong but I was under the impression that Belfast was in the UK???

You are not wrong Ozankoys, however, the Belfast office is not the UK office where there are 10s of 1000s of passports waiting to be sorted and returned to owners. So hopefully it will be quicker?

Yes I see what you mean maybe they can give lead times if you call them or could ask for feedback from people here who have renewed rcently.

Steve is very helpful at Cafe Boss and can advise you what to do. Might be best to go earlier than lunch time when he gets busy if you want to chat with him!

We filled in a form each that we downloaded of the internet, then took them to Steve where we had to pay 35Euros to post both of them to the Belfast office after filling in another DHL customs form. They were delivered swiftly to Belfast as we could see online, hopefully they should be back within the next 3 weeks.

Don't forget to ask for your old passport back form the passport office if it has your Residency visa stamp in it!
