Moving to TRNC and would like to buy a car and motorcycle.

Good evening to you all.

I have been accepted on this forum as my wife and I plan to move to the Kyrenia area in the next couple of months. I understand we are not able to bring our existing vehicles with us therefore we will be searching for alternatives in the near future. I have seen a range of interesting cars on this forum so that doesn't give us any problems. However, I would like to purchase a motorcycle and have only seen models I'm interested in which are available in Southern Cyprus, more specifically, Nicosia. So this leads me to what could end up being my first stupid question on this forum.

Is it possible to purchase a motorcycle in Southern Cyprus and use it legally in TRNC?

You say you can't bring your existing car and motorbike to north Cyprus have you checked the criteria ?it would be worth checking with the embassy in London are helpful and are available on the telephone

His question was could he purchase a motorbike in the South and bring it North, the answer is NO.

May I suggest you have a look at the Bikers Club bike shop in Karakum, they have a wide selection of bikes. If you have a good bike in the UK you could always bring it with you and pay the import duty. I would not recommend bringing a car as the tax and duty are very high.

You are not allowed to import left hand drive cars from Turkey.
I would still suggest looking at the Bikers Club shop this link will show you the shop and some of the bikes.
