I think the one opposite the ship is very expensive........I know some friends went there last weekend (there were 9 of them) and the bill came to 4000tl (ouch) !!!!

Re: The Laughing Buddha
I'm the first to admit that maths is not my strong suit, but 4,000tl? If it was a party of 10 people, that would work out to 400tl each, which at an exchange rate of 2.82 equals about £142.00 each? Bearing in mind it was for 9 persons, it obviously works out even more (£157.00ish). Bloody hell; what did they have to eat?

Re: The Laughing Buddha
A friend of mine went and said it was expensive and there was not enough food, so I have never been !
I would be interested in a second opinion though

They were London Cypriots........ My guess is, bottles on the table, will have put the price up.

Re: The Laughing Buddha
metin - thank you for that. Certainly if there were "bottles on the table" it would have pushed up the price no end. Mind you, I fancy there would have been quite of lot of bottles, even at inflated restaurant prices. Ah well, another one to avoid, by the sounds of it.

Re: The Laughing Buddha
I have visited the Chinese House if that is the restaurant we are talking about on quite a few occasions, and never have I encountered a bill like that, last time I went (3 weeks roughly) we had 2 courses, and my fav drink Jack and Diet Pepsi (tins), men were on beer, too and one of party was not drinking alcohol, but far too much food, lots wasted! The bill 60TL per head, which has been about average for us there, so maybe we sometimes should not listen too much to what people say, I would strongly recommend it, it has gone from strength to strength since my first visit nearly 5 years ago which put me off ever going again!
