All change in France etc,etc.
Now that we have had changes at the top in France. And Greece seems too be on its last legs within the Euro zone.Does anyone think that this could open the door for Turkey to enter the "club".

Why would cyprus go back to cyprus pounds and not stay with the euro, they are an independent country, they are not financially linked to greece. Please correct me if I'm wrong, knowing me i could be lol.

Friend of mine been in Rhodes for a month and she e mailed me saying that talking to people there, they are pleased there is all this toing and froing in regard to Greece - they say that as the EU wants them to stay in Euro they will wipe off their debt !!!!!!!!! Well if they did that, and I cannot see it, that would pave the way for anybody who owes IMF and ECB to say sod it cannot pay. Wonder how much this new election is costing them. I cannot understand looking at all this going on why Turkey would even contemplate wanting to join this band of thieves and under the Constitution a new country has to join the euro.

Are americans and australians english.
On news night about a week ago they was saying letting turkey in the eu would be the biggest disaster for europe ever, places like the uk would be flooded and the resources drained even further, so under the current economic climate it sounds highly unlikely, added on to the fact that turkey is not in europe anyway, maybe a third. Also cameron has said multi cultural britain has not worked, so he would not be backing it. How long is it going to take to sort out the current mess, could be ten years. What will be will be.

Maybe i don't know, but what was said was said, I'm only repeating it. He has only just said that multi cultural britain has not worked, so i would have thought his views on many things has to change with that retraction. I cant be certain but from what the experts where saying it sounded unlikely to happen in the near future.

Cheers for the link Steve. And last year David Cameron said he was the "strongest possible advocate" of Turkey joining. As they (Turkey) have been trying to get on board since 1959.I wouldnt hold your breath. They really do have bigger fish to fry in the Middle East anyway. The return of the Ottoman empire perhaps.

Turkey is a poor developing country, no big player, even if they were in europe they don't yet qualify. Is it impossible to believe that turkey might just stay turkey.

Re: All change in France etc, etc.
Over 20% of people live in poverty, they progress of external funding, eu funding for some strange reason, there Gdp if that is right is still very low compared to most leading eu countries. They have a third world sewer system and the uk gave them 80 million this year in aid to get a modern sewer system fitted, although there is no guarantee they will join or be excepted anyway. Turkey have not had a good start to 2012 things are starting to slip. I'm sure they are pushing forward and it's a really nice place, but well over hyped on north cyprus forums, i wonder why lol.

I would imagine that most countries would sooner have Turkey as a friend, then an enemy.Dont they have the third fastest growing economy in the world. And a very young poulation as well.

Don't make me laugh paul, that's easy say when the world is in recession, everywhere in the world has a young population lol. i think they should sort there sewers out before they start trying to compete with iran china russia and the usa in the nuclear department lol. What has a young population got to do with warfare in the modern world anyway.
Well we all have an opinion anyway, time will tell i guess.

Fastest growing economies brazil russian india china and africa, so by that logic you better start fearing india, brazil and india are massive economies they make turkey look nothing. Its all forum hype not reality.

Re: All change in France etc, etc.
the reason turkey is not accepted into the EU is very simple
They are not Europeans, they are Asian and Muslim,I believe EU would accept them, but only if they cloth in the correct attire, the club should not have to adhere to the the dress standards of the one's that are queuing...if you want to dress that way..go to a different club..if you want in,wear a tie
