Help Needed with Blocked Kitchen Drain

Can anyone help me with this. I have called my plumber but he says he doesn't have the equipment to deal with this problem and doesn't know anyone who has! I live in the Alsancak area. I have tried to deal with it my self but the entrance is very narrow and nothing I have used so far has cleared it. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated as water is lifting the drain cover and spilling out everywhere and the smell is also pretty bad. Thanks in advance for any suggestions put forward. We are so lucky to have this forum to turn to when problems arise.

Can't help, but have a similar problem. Blocked pipes more than drain (I think). I have been given the name of a plumber but it may be one youalready have tried.

God luck. I do hope that someone comes up with an answer. Don't kow about you, but my pipework (the house, not me) is not of the best quality, but this is Cyprus and I did not expect it. However, a few years down the line the minor faults became major problems. So, does anyone have any ideas to whom one should turn for major tasks like this.

I should have added that the business directory connected with KibKom could give you the answer, but personal recommendation is often a good response. So do take a look anyway. Take a look at this thread http://www.kibkomnorthcyprusforum.com/v ... =52&t=2935. There are a couple of suggestions on there.

Try my plumber, MUSA tel: 0533 865 04 40. Say Mrs Carol gave you his number. Good guy and not too expensive. If he cannot help, I have another one somewhere, but he is slow to attend.

Thanks for your help but you didn't actually give me the name of the plumber you had mentioned in your post so I don't know if it is one I know or not...lol! I would be grateful if you could advise me of his name. I would prefer someone who speaks good English as my Turkish is virtually non-existent. Thanks once again

Usually you have a few covers in your property, you need to follow them and lift them up and poke around with I long stick until the blockage is found, I did this myself a while ago,my blockage was wet wipes that a guest had flushed down the loo for 2 weeks, the main blockage was bye the sess pit,as soon as I had Sussed it the lot just flew down !! I then got a hose pipe and flushed it all threw making sure it was flowing again, good look, hope you get your s**t sorted soon

Set of drain rods, not expensive and much more effective than a long stick.

Hi Ham on Brown
What you say appeared to be very logical so I followed your instructions and opened all the hatches and everyone I opened apart from the actual drain that is already blocked that services the kitchen sink seems to have s**t down it even the ones right next to the house. I am now confused and not sure which one the cesspit is or if I infact have more than one cesspit. I also don't understand how the drain below the kitchen window is connected to the cesspit. Even though I am a woman I don't mind getting my hands dirty it is just strength I lack to push down a stick. Just out of interest I don't suppose you live in the Alsancak area and could come and give me some guidance on the matter if you have a free half hour? Money is tight and if I can do the job myself without having to call in a plumber then I am quite prepared to get stuck in.
Regards Jacky

Hi
My place is in aj but I'm a swallow and am not there at the mo. So sorry I think all your waste goes to the cesspit including your kitchen water. Just have a poke round where it seems to be blocked, hope you get it sorted.
