In the process of drilling a well on our land, and I have two queries to anyone who's been through this process.
Firstly, any recommendations for where to buy the submersible pump (2kw), and secondly has anyone bought a lockable cover for the well, or do these have to be custom made, and if so, where?
Thanks folks!

Go to Press Teknik for your pump - he has a good range. More importantly, if you buy the cable from him also he will join it up to the pump with a fully waterproof seal - probably at no cost but I may have just been lucky. He aso sells the hose and fittings so you can get everything you need there. Just make sure you have an accurate measurement for the length of cable that you will require.
I can't imagine why you need a lockable cover - mine just has a loose wooden cover I made myself to keep the leaves out. However, the power switch to run the pump is in a lockable box so nobody else can run it.

JBA,where is that supplier?
As for the cover, a lockable one is a good idea indeed, especially if you have children visiting. Our well has a small wall around it at the top, and a lockable iron lid which was made and fitted by the local iron man.
A good lid is a must, over the years there have been many, many accidents in both this and other similar countries with wells. Also stops wildlife, and rats from falling in, suffering an awful death and contaminating the water.

Assuming you're coming from Girne, Press Teknik is on the main road (RHS) on the Lapta/Alsancak border about 300 metres after the 2nd Starling and before the Lapta strip.
If you're going ahead you must allow 30 mins for him to make the waterproof seal. He threads some cable ducting up to the electrical joint, mixes up some special resin which he pours into the ducting and then waits for it to harden. The result is the joint is encased in a thick block of waterproof resin.
