Property Tax 1% or 3%

Hi,

Has anyone actually managed to get the 1% - our builder said that he doesn't know anyone that got 1% they find a reason for it to be 3%

Just completed mine this week.
1% transfer tax & 4% vat.

Geordie do you have a Villa or Apartment? Have heard it is 1% on apartments and 3% on villas.

I have an apt.
Friend has a villa & they are going through the process at the moment.
They have been told 1% property transfer tax.
My lawyer did say that this reduction only runs to the 31st August

Can confirm we have our title deeds confirmed in our name as of last week and we collect next time we come across.

We have a small apartment, not a detached/semi detached villa (Not sure this makes a difference but thought best to clarify)

Tax we paid was 1%

Was POA for our neighbours,transfered deeds last week & it was 1% for the villa.

Expected to pay 1% on the basis that my property was a new build and not a resale.
Wrong!!!!
If the land needs parcelicing, as our did, the 1% does not apply so I had to pay 3%
In my opinion the whole system is stupid!

Mine was a resale and I paid 1%. Taxes had all been paid by previous owner and registered in their names.
