Re: Eye Clinics.
I was going to ask exactly the same question, as I was phoned 45 minutes before my appointment at Cyprus Eye Clinic, letting me know my appointment was cancelled.
When I asked who will pay for my taxi, there, wait and return, the girl remembered her English was not very good!

Re: Eye Clinics.
Just been to the eye clinic in Kyrenia state hospital.
Seen within 30 mins by a very pleasant lady doctor who spoke very good English. All the same test instruments as in the UK.
Prescription written out and consultation finished 20 mins.
Cost = Free.

Hi PapaBravo, Just ring the doctor on her mobile (number above) and she will give you a date/time. The eye clinic is halfway down the main corridor on the right.PapaBravo wrote:Vaughan, what is the procedure to see the eye doctor? terry2366 which opticians did you go to in Ledra Street for your lenses. I have a prescription and have previously had glasses from Akay optic and Canada but have not been overly impressed.

Re: Eye Clinics.
I went to the one opposite the post office just up from checkpoint. I went to the eye clinic by belllapais traffic lights but was not impressed they charged 100ytlnand said my eyes were too bad and I would need my cataracts done first. She quoted me £900 per eye. She would not give me a prescription. I then went to Kolan in lefkosia. Paid the doctor 80ytl got a prescription immediately and when asked about cataracts he said at 73 most people have them to some degree. He said if at a later stage they needed doing it was £600'per eye a saving of £600'. So it pays to shop around and not all are honest. Got my glasses on the Greek side and also saved a fortune and got them in three days.

Yes, the Eye Clinic by Bellapais traffic lights said my retina's were detatching, and had to keep going for checkups at 80 lira a time. Eventually went to Eye clinic in Lefkosia, and he said nothing wrong with them.
