Tuncay in Yeri....might have spelt it wrong tho! Righty hand side on road not far from the right turn to Esentepe village....had a great couple of meals there when on holiday last year and will hopefully return again this year.

Not quite that much east of Girne but Bellamoon in Bellapais has always been good value and standard. Cheap and cheerful is the Lahmucen/Pide place on the right as you enter Bellapais...great for a cheap filling meal.

I will second that about Tunçayın Yeri ( also not sure of the spelling ). Just been that way on Sunday lunchtime for a drive and looking for somewhere to eat. Fabulous fresh meze and the best kofte ever, too much food really. Quite a comprehensive menu and service excellent, only cost us 58tl for 2 of us and this included drinks. Will definately go there again even though we live in Alsancak.

I am pleased to say that there are now a lot of restaurants East of Girne. One of my favourites is Stevie's bar and restaurant at Kuckuk Erenkoy. Very friendly and welcoming as well as good food and John Smith's on draft.
As I got older I congratulated myself on my tolerance..... Now I realise I just don't give a "ooops"

Its exactly 3km after Korineum Golf Club. You'll see the sign on the right.

Is it only Esentepe and areas close by that qualify east of Girne? What about Karakum Ozankoy Catalkoy Alagadi dont they qualify?

Why not try the Magic bar, opposite Tuncay's, run by the same family but doing more British type dishes, very cosmopolitan, with Swedish, Danish, Norweigens and Brits and locals of course, all having a great time.NB1

We absolutely love Erol's in Ozankoy.

Why? Because in all the years we have been going there the standard of service and the lovely food has never, ever altered.

Unlike some establishments which you visit and have a superb meal and then tell your friends and go again with said friends and the food is shockingly bad, very embarrassing.

With the exception of Erol's we make a point now of never recommending anywhere to eat.
