UK VPN, IP's etc. UK V>

Watching BBC Iplayer, 4OD etc, I have always used a service called Hide my IP to get a UK IP address (or many other countries IP address) so I could watch these UK TV playback services. For their premium service it was about $89 per year, and the licence is for one PC only - attempts to put on more than one machine invalidates the licence! However, the inherent problem with such VPN services is they connect to a UK server (or which ever country IP you want), and in doing so, invariably degrades your connection speed. On a 4 mb ADSL, they speed would go down to 1.5 mb, no chance of streaming programmes and forget HD playback - download the only option. I had tried 'other free UK VPN' alternatives, but couldn't get them to work very well, or not at all.

A friend who works for an IT company told me about Unotelly DNS (https://www2.unotelly.com/home) - typically sceptical brit, I doubter the claim of no loss of speed, but I have tried the 8 day free trial and can only talk about my experience - I have been able to stream HD programms on BBC I player, 40D a little slower (dammed ads!).

Another really big positive, is you can set it up on multiple devices, or on your modem, so any device that connects on your network, all have access as well - tablets, smartphones, laptops, smart telly, etc.

I am not on commission or connected with the company in any way - try the free trial, see what you think. You pay monthly $4.95 and can cancel at any time, so only pay for what you want. More info' at http://help.unotelly.com/support/solutions.

Some technical expert reviews below:

"What UnoTelly does in few words, is that it will let you access blocked channels like Netflix, Hulu, BBC iPlayer and more, from anywhere you are with the press of a button. The basic difference
between UnoDNS and traditional VPN services is that by using this service, you will have a much faster connection for streaming video compared to VPN services. That’s because unlike VPNs
and other solutions, with this service there is no “middle-man” and as a result, you can stream directly from the streaming media station with your full internet speed." Tech cloud blog.

"UnoDNS helps you to access various services including Hulu and Netflix even if you don't live in an available country. The best part is that you can do this on a range of devices including PC,
Mac, PS3, Xbox 360, Boxee, Apple TV, iPad, iPhone and even Smart TVs. it's also extremely cheap. You can get a great quality stream to what everyone else gets." Tech Nutty
