thank you to all the replies I got on the last thread (can't find it this morning) - anyway my husband went into Girne - first one he went to, can't do it have to send it to Nicosia, he said no thanks, so the assistant reluctantly recommended another shop. Right directions from top of main road - 100 yards down past turkish ish bank, turn right, the shop is located 100 yard down on the right. Its called Hannan Watch Shop, Canpolat Sok. No. 20 Girne, telephone 039 815 01 09 - he changed the battery with the correct tools in front of my husband within seconds, and only charged 10 tl - excellent. anyway he has got tools for any watch, so he can repair and change batteries. It can only be assumed that those who say the watches have to go to Nicosia are stretching the truth perhaps - they just go to him and he does it, but they charge you extra for the privilege - so all in all a good result - hope it helps others who have the same problems we had

just started to use him recently, found him by accident. Repairing a clock for me, needs mechanism from Istanbul but only charging 20tl,Very helpful guy.
