Results of the Ice Bucket Challenge in aid of Tulips

On the 26th August, Christine Abdulai contacted us to say that she had been challenged to do the 'Ice Bucket Challenge' by a friend of hers in the UK. She knew she had to get this challenged completed asap and approached Savas Tay (owner of the Sh Boom Bar, Alsancak) with a view of running a fundraising evening on his premises.

The result was Savas, Sunny (the bar man) and Christine would all accept their Ice Bucket Challenges and raise money for Tulips in addition to these three, young Elena Rotheray who at the age of 7 yrs also wanted to accept her challenge. Elena then nominated her granddad, Ken Massey, who was the next person drowned in ice cold water!

We also had a young man by the name of Chris Taylor who is in the TRNC on holiday but was also challenged by friends in the UK, he decided to take up his challenge on the same night.

We would like to thank Christine Abdulai for taking up her challenge and thinking of raising money for Tulips, thank you to Savas for getting into the spirit of things, the result of this is that other people have also come forward to accept their challenges for Tulips, so thank you to everyone and their sponsors!

Up until yesterday (29.08.14) afternoon, the ice bucket challenge was still taking place with new people coming forward to take up their challenges, the result is the Sh Boom Bar has so far raised 679.75TL and £20 for Tulips!

It really was a superb result for everyone who took part at the Sh Boom Bar.
