Does anyone know whether it is possible to drive to the UK in a TRNC registered vehicle? If so what would be the likely problems that we would/could encounter?

Hi Thanks for the reply. I take it you are referring to the borders of Turkey and say an EU country not getting into Turkey.

Yes I tried both Greek and Bulgarian borders with the same result no joy, some say that if you get the right person on at the Bulgarian border a drink will sometimes get you through but I would not bet on it

hi, interesting topic, has anyone taken their car back into an EU country recently ? Am considering driving back to Uk for a holiday and would like to know the current state of any legislation, border problems, also is there any insurance company on record that will insure one for such a journey ?

Kelebek Transport - Arif on 0533 8453 423 - regularly moves gear back and forth to UK. I don't know if he if using UK registered vehicles though???
However, he may be able to give you a steer as it doesn't appear that anyone here online has any info.
Steve Dickinson -05428731231 - can probably advise on insurance.

There are several companies that will insure you for Turkey I cant recall the name of the one I used but someone will be able to help you with that .The real problem starts when you get to the EU borders where you have to buy insurance before crossing. They will tell you that the car has TRNC plates and cant cross, over if you manage to get insurance you will be turned back by customs, hope this helps
