It has been announced that the Queen of Malaysia Sultana Phang is on a 4 day vacation at Cratos Premium Hotel . Security will be tighter than usual I expect. Hope I can still access cash machine in foyer.

Hopefully it will bring in more tourists from that part of the world,we certainly need folks with money to spend.

The visit is reported in todays Cyprus Today.

The Cash Machine is for Garanti Bank only as far as I know. It has a menu in English and gives out TL or Dollars.

It might look like a prison from the outside, it's certainly Lux inside with quite spacious shopping mall. A neighbour works there and tells me it is regularly fully booked.

I believe the Turkish Prime Minister is a shareholder if so probably explains why he always stays there when he is over here.

I agree it looks like a prison from the out side , but it is beautifull on the inside. Dont judge a book by its cover

Apparently for what its worth, she wasn't the wife of the Sultan of Malaysia, she was the wife of the Sultan of the Pahang Region http://www.haberkktc.com/haber/aldatildik-41920.html
Pahang does make up a big part of Malaysia though ...

I agree it doesn't really matter Andrew, but The TCs are rather upset about it The headline says "We were fooled" and the report (with link given above) says that the authorities went to the trouble of arranging trips around TRNC and meetings with people like Gülin Küçük, the prime minister's wife and the wives of other ministers

I wont say it, but I will - serves them right - surely protocol should check on things like this first - anyone could dress up, hire lots of clothes and jewellery, ask some friends to play act with them as maids and so forth and swan in saying they were the duchess of so and so, and expect the red carpet? False passports arent that hard to get I'm informed(!!) and even a duchess has just a name on a passport not a title? But I suppose one sultan is like another?? As long as it looks like some other country recognises the TRNC they fall over backwards trying to prove something. I hope she wasnt bored out of her mind meeting all those political wives!
Ok Im a cynic!
