My lovely wife suffers from Parkinsons and until yesterday has not stopped her being able to walk around with me to shop. Due to back and leg pain, I had to use the wheelchair for her yesterday to enable us to shop at Lemars. I was extremely upset to find that there were no trollies adapted for use with a wheelchair.
I did ask a member of staff, but she said sorry they don't have any. So there I was, pushing my wife's chair whist trying to pull a basket along behind me, needless to say I bought the absolute minimum and left. On the way home I stopped at Starlings and found the situation there exactly the same.
Is anyone aware of any supermarkets that cater for wheelchair shopping?.

Re: Shopping Whilst Using A Wheelchair
I am recovering from bone cancer and in the early stages after my operation had to use a wheel chair whilst shopping ( even very bravely went South one day) . Nowhere were any trolleys adapted to wheelchairs so I operated the chair while my husband pushed the trolley and somehow we accomplished our missions. Fortunately I am now able to walk with a stick. I don't envy you both having to cope with the lack of facilities for the disabled here.

I have to say I have never looked to see if there are shopping trolleys for wheelchair users, so cannot help with your query.
It must be added pressure for you to try to maintain a normal activity such as shopping as your wife is currently wheelchair bound.
An article in Cyprus Today highlighted the inadequate facilities for people who are less able bodied, perhaps you could approach certain charities such as Toparlaniyoruz or Leonard Cheshire to see if they can give any assistance in this matter, if they cannot help perhaps they may have the information of someone that may be able to help or may even help highlight to supermarkets the need for providing trolleys for wheel chair users.
There is also Citizens Advice you could contact.
Good luck.
