The BBC were saying that they anticipate the situation to last some 3 years.

Terrorists like ISIS can never be beaten.
They will melt away and reform.
They are Animals living in the 12th century-but they have wealthy support.

Air strikes alone will not beat them, boots on the ground will only contain them. However not convinced that in Iraq that their forces have either the skills or resolve for a long haul campaign......as for Syria who knows.

Good to see a number of nations including arab are now all commited to fighting IS.

Special forces on the ground are probably as close as we wil get to providing boots in country, whilst possibly only initially helping with air strikes and reconnaissance, would not be surprised to see them used to target leaders and individuals and take them out.

Its a long haul for sure and best we can expect is containment. To protect the UK we must continue to full fund all elements of our security services so we remain one step ahead of these evil, backwwrd imbeciles.

With respective governments reducing our military capability to less than we had before the start of WW1 I have my doubts that anything tangible will come out of a load of MPs and Lords waving a flag now! Too little, too late, the support that the TRNC has received from a guarantor power does not bode well for the support it would give other Nations in trouble.

I feel the only real hope is if Turkey takes up the sword but as that goes against the religion, I have my doubts there as well. At least they are providing support to NATO if nothing else. Sad times indeed.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.
