Less than 48 hours left to find homes for Fric and Frac
Urgently require a new temporary or permanent home or homes for 2 lovely dogs, Fric and Frac. Their owner is leaving the island on Thursday and the dogs will become homeless as the property is rented.
Fric and Frac were born Jan 23, 2013 and currently live in Zeytinlik, Girne. They are half Rottweiler and half Mastiff. They have not been out from the yard very much and as such they are very shy but very friendly and house-trained.
They are fully vaccinated with full medical records.
Anyone interested in providing a home for either of these lovely dogs please call 0533 88 22 740 asap. Many thanks.
PS. Anyone needing help with costs of feeding the dogs, walks etc. Please visit the Hope 4 Pets North Cyprus page on Facebook for further information.

As a last resort if homes cannot be found by tomorrow evening, can anyone suggest any kennels in Girne or nearby that we can house the dogs until homes can be found for them? How much would it cost?

Well done for that. Perhaps hope for pets can help with donations. At least you have tried your very best for these dogs, a lot of people would have just dumped them.

That would be heartless and something I couldn't live with.

Re: Less than 48 hours left to find homes for Fric and Frac
The dogs have been placed in K9 Country Kennels in Kaplica until October 10th. Their mother flies out to the Dominican Republic On October 8th. I have paid this but am assured the cost will be reimbursed from donations received specifically for Fric and Frac. On October 10th I will need to collect the dogs and find someone or persons to adopt/foster them. Although there have been offers to help with the cost of feeding and walking the dogs there have been no persons come forward. This I find quite disturbing as time really is running out.

I find it disturbing that the owner is abandoning them and dumping the responsibilty on everyone else by emotional blackmail.

I agree with Frontalman. Unfortunately it would appear that having a group such as Hope 4 Pets gives certain people an opportunity to abdicate their responsibility to their pets by taking advantage of the kindness of others. It really shouldn't be that easy for someone to simply say I can't afford to take them so will put them on the streets

Re: Less than 48 hours left to find homes for Fric and Frac
I do agree that where possible every effort should be made to take your pets with you. I know that the owner has taken the mother of the 2 pups to Dominica for £4,500. However, the pups have remained. I cannot begin to explain the stress, lack of sleep and disappointment I have experienced in being unable to house them. The Kennels where they are currently staying rang me today to say that they have never seen so shy/scared dogs for their breed. They were left to run around the yard for a while. However, it took over 2 1/2 hours to to re-capture them. The dogs were physically trembling with fear and had the saddest eyes. They are now being kept in their pens only being left out for walks with leads on. On October 10th the dogs will be coming back to Girne and I will need to find homes for them. The landlord of the property where they had been staying has taken back the property and so the dogs will become homeless if a home cannot be found. Please note I am only the messenger, so please don't shoot me. I have been actively searching for new homes for 6 weeks now. With the help of donations I have managed to keep them off the street so far but this cannot be sustained. For the welfare of the dogs they need new homes and loving owners. I was quoted £8 a day per dog to put them in Kennels in Girne. If anyone would like to take on the dogs I have had offers to help with the cost of feeding and walking the dogs. Please contact 0533 8822740 before it is too late for these dogs.

Latest Update: Krull, the mother of Fric and Frac set off for Dominica this afternoon. Somehow I think they knew it was goodbye as I could hear them crying until I drove out of range. It is time to concentrate once more on finding them homes.

Re: Less than 48 hours left to find homes for Fric and Frac
They are in Zeytinlik staying where they were living with their owner. I have come to a short term agreement where they can stay until the repairs on the house are completed. I am paying 100TL to him and buying food for the dogs. It is not ideal as the dogs do not have a roof over their heads and cannot run around in the garden as I would never be able to catch them.

100tl sounds too much to me. I wish you good luck, it must be hard on you as well as them.

I didn't know what to offer tbh. I am hoping to move them this weekend to somewhere more suitable as they really need more space.

Steph is going to visit them today. I really want to place them in kennels this week as they have very little shelter at the and the weather has taken a change for the worse.

Re: Less than 48 hours left to find homes for Fric and Frac
Fric and Frac were told at very short notice that they had to vacate their premises. They are now staying at Petline in Catalkoy. The kennels are run by a vet and he is aware that the dogs will be staying there until forever homes can be found. Hopefully there will be no more moving around. He recommended that Frac was castrated in the best interests of all and so I have booked him in for his snip next week. The vet has said that visitors and dog walkers are welcomed. The dogs are in the pen beside the entrance to the vets and so can be seen from outside.

The culprit of Frac's current discomfort has been asking about his health. I am sure Frac is thinking the same lol

Re: Less than 48 hours left to find homes for Fric and Frac
Fric and Frac are still without forever homes. They have been staying at the Petline Vet / Pet Hotel for 4 weeks. This has been paid for with donations from kind patrons either directly or via H4P's. This is a temporary and costly exercise. I am still looking for either a foster owner or an adopted owner. It would be nice to find them a forever home by Christmas. Contributions can be made available to any owner wishing to provide forever homes. My only other alternative is find homes from the UK. This will require some financial help to help send them over. i am currently looking into this process and what is involved i.e. costs, mdeical requirements, paperwork, timespan etc. I will post again once I have met up with KAR.

Blue Eyes...you are an angel!!
I am so sick of hearing about these disgusting attitudes to animals.
How could this person do that to you and leave all that worry on your doorstep?
Leaving dogs without a home should incur substantial fines in this country.
Otherwise how are we ever going to see an end to this problem?
This once again brings me to tears.
You will be rewarded for this in your lifetime. I truly believe that.

Jazzdolly, I agree, but how do you" fine" someone who has gone to the Dominican Republic or goes back to the UK. I have met Blue Eyes and yes he is an I have also met Fric and Frac, they are so friendly. Yes they are BIG, but so GENTLE.They both licked my hand at our first meeting. I am trying to help him, but sadly could not cope with the dogs, as I am on my own and have 2 already. Really would be great if someone would give them a forever home!!

Re: Less than 48 hours left to find homes for Fric and Frac
It is almost 3 months now that I have been looking for homes for Fric and Frac. For the last 2 months they have been moved around various kennels/pet hotels. This is only a short term solution and not the answer for the longer term. It will prove too costly to maintain and the dogs will think that it is their home. The dogs really require forever homes be it here in North Cyprus or in the UK if an owner can be found. I am open to all options as long as they are in the dog's best interests.
