I have an Olypus digitial 800 camera and it has just started playing up.
My problem is: I have deleted all photo's off my camera and when I take any new piccies the old photo's turn up again with no sign of the new ones!
This is the 2nd time this has happened.
Anyone got any ideas or know where I can take it to be looked at.
Thanks
Sue

Re: Help - problems with my camera
I believe this camera has both internal storage and an external card slot that takes xD cards.
If you have no images that you need to keep on either I would try formatting both (if you have an xD card in it that is) and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks for the reply Erol,
I had forgotten it had an xD card so I have removed it and the problem still exists ie no new photo's will store on the camera.
Would you or anyone know of somewhere I can take my camera too for repair (if possible)?

Scoobydoo, I do not think your camera needs repair. You just need to go into the MENU and change settings so that photos taken are stored on internal memory or on external card. Seems like you need to delete photos that are on internal memory (if you have already saved them elsewhere).

Did you try the 'format' option , either with the card in or with it out ? You should definitely try this option if you have not already. Format is different from 'erase all pictures' and may correct any problems with the internal storage or the external xD card.Scoobydoo wrote:Thanks for the reply Erol,

As for where you can take it for repair I am not sure really. There are many camera shops around but I have no experience of using any of them for such a repair so would not recommend any over the others if you see what I mean.

Re: Help - problems with my camera
Thank you everyone for your suggestions, of which I have tried. Unfortunately the problem is still there, very strange.
Graham, I will call you and arrange a date and time, I have a few things on at the beginning of the week.
As a last resort, I have been told that there is a service centre, unfortunately, in the South which I will have to check out before I visit them alternatively I will be buying another camera!
