Re: Could this man be future Prime Minister
"...the UK would be better outside the EU..." is a phrase that appears to be one of the primary claims; however, what proof or even evidence is there to support this? In trading, imports would almost certainly increase in cost, exports - to whom? Barriers would probably start to go up... Before the EU, we had favoured status with the commonwealth countries around the world - then we kicked them in the teeth by imposing restrictions (remember New Zealand lamb for one?), just to join the EU. Forget going back to the commonwealth; they now have new trading partners in the Pacific area and elsewhere, and would laugh at us. Financial and banking services? They would be snatched by some remaining member state (France or Germany would be prime, eager candidates). Trade with the USA? They will buy us out and close us down - look at Kraft and Cadbury....
Look around the world - there several associations/federations such as OPEC, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, etc. working together - then look at "singleton" countries (e.g. Iceland, Greenland, Central American countries, etc) and consider their standing regarding finance, trading and influence - and how we would end up....
The real substance of the statement is whether the UK would have been better outside the EU if we had never joined - but as we did, would we really be better or worse? I don't know, and I have yet to see any meaningful evidence either way.

Mr Cameron do YOU actually realise that its YOU who has resided in number10 for the last four and a half years while this fiasco has been unfolding…YOU and your government have sat back and allowed this to happen and then have the nerve to stand up and tell us all that you need to do something about it…..what a plank !
Just listen to his tone about the EU…..not a chance he will play fair with us about this.
I have voted Tory all my life but its UKIP for me from now on.

Re: Could this man be future Prime Minister
Or is it the UKIP special offer - Buy one, get one free?
Of course, that relates only to votes; rather like backing each way - gives you an choice of two....
Naturally, it doesn't apply to the politicians themselves - you never get one free, you have to buy each and every one.....

Just don't want Labour in power that's all, either Conservative or UKIP ok by me, but I don't fancy the chance of UKIP getting there.

Reading these postings is a good indicator of why this country is in the state it's in and why you lot have buggered off to read your daily mails and then bury your heads in the sand.
I assume you mostly agree with the antics of Cameron and "Osbore" and you think a shyster like Farage will improve on their "good works" .
First we had Thatcher to start the rot, Blair to carry on the destruction and then this bunch of clowns to finish the job!!
I wish we had Merkel!!!!
And if we leave the EU and look to the US of A we will really be in deep "ooops" - as they are !!!

Re: Could this man be future Prime Minister
Such as this makes me see red, yes I understand that some fish need to have a limit put on the amount caught to preserve stocks , but surely this should be for every country in the EU. This is why we need strong leadership in the UK to PRESERVE our rights, not have our lives and livelihood eroded by other than a British government elected by British people who can manage to do this without outside help. And what we have seen in the past by successive leaders is a fist shaking posture that means bugger all when it comes to taking the fight back to the EU bureaucratsturtle wrote:Another reason to get out of the EU ?
