car keys
I have lost my car keys! I have got a door key for it but not a spare ignition key. we are in UK at the moment and are coming out in January. Is it possible to get another Ignition key from Mazda in UK or in Gine (it is a Mazda) if we have Chasis no.
Has this happened to anyone else and how did you resolve.

Re: car keys
Hi
Any Mazda dealer should be able to do it but in the UK you normally need log book identification and a household bill.

Re: car keys
A lot depends on if it has a transponder built in .....a chip effectively that when in the ignition creates a code together and starts the car .
In the UK try company like car keys 24/7 ....or similar .
It's called recoding ,BUT HERE IS THE SNAG .
to recode they may need to plug into your ecu ,read the old code ,chip the new key and bingo .
Now they will do that in TRNC .
A car key cut in UK around £120 doing it this way ,but as I say you do not have the ignition or device .
Your best option is to find somebody in TRNC ( pressume that's where car is ?) and seek chip and recode of the barrel you have

Re: car keys
Try the key shop near the hospital in Girne, near the art/picture shop. Very modern machinery in shop and very helpful chap, sure he can glean info from chassis number

Re: car keys
This has just happened to me on 22nd October, lost my car keys at the tip in UK in the Paper & Cardboard skip. Had them in my hand and didn't realise I had thrown them into the skip.
I went to my local Lock & Key shop and they wanted the Key Code for my Vauxhall Corsa X reg and also he wanted to make a phone call(don't know where) to see if it could be done. He called in another person to do it and it took 40 minutes. Labour was £25 and a L12642 Silca HU46T12 chipped transponder(whatever that is) was £20 + £9. VAT came to £54.
He told me that if I had gone to Vauxhall main dealer I would have needed a mortgage and looking on the internet even, it quoted £200. The key I have will do everything as normal except opening the doors automatic by pushing the button. So it's a spare.

Re: car keys
Thanks very much everyone.
Don't think its got a transponder because it is an ordinary key not a keyfob. But I will find out.
