Farewell Robert Knox, R.I.P.

The very sad news was received with shock waves as the death of Robert Knox was announced . Robert died in his sleep at the age of thirty, and leaves behind twins, only 6 weeks old, and a two year old, and of course, many broken hearts.
Robert's funeral will take place in the Lefkosia Cemetery and will be largely a Muslim one (Robert was married into a Turkish family) but with some Christian input .
Many forum members would not have known Robert but he was a keen member of Kuskor and will be deeply , sadly missed by his family, his friend,s his neighbours and all those on whom his life touched.

The post mortem has not yet been held, but Robert was an extremely fit young man. His death is a heartbreaking mystery.

It is hoped that the family will find strength to learn to live without him, and KibKom (boss, moderators, and I am sure, members) send love and prayers for the funeral and the time ahead.

A tragically short time; may his family receive all the support, help, care and above all else the love to sustain them at this time and in the future.

Hey!
Is this the same Robert Knox who was teaching English in MEU Güzelyurt Campus? It must be him because he also had a Turkish wife but I was teaching him Turkish few times a week until a year ago and got to know him well (and met the wife also on one of our outings). How sad - he was a right gentleman who clearly loved his family and home - that really upset me now!

Marions, please please let me know what time the funeral is - and if it is at the general cemetery near NEU. Must attend! I am also sending you a pm.

It is now thought that Robert died from sleep apnoea... Very sad to strike down a man of only 29 with a wife and three lovely children.

His METU students have kindly made a donation to Kuskor in his honour and we are discussing ways to use this as constructively as possible.

I must look that one up. In one so young, indeed MOSTunfair. But so glad that KUSKOR is benefitting. Good that something good has come from the bad.

Thanks so much for sharing that news.
