talks referendum
As a part timer here....9 months of the year I have an interest in the cyprob. I read the various newspapers, listen to the arguments, proposals, counter proposals and rejections. Of course the time may arrive where both sides have to choose.....since that fateful time there have been numerous attempts to conclude further talks.....
I wonder if they held a referendum on a simple question...much like scotlands recent event. Do you want the talks to continue Yes or No?....
Just a thought... ;o)

Re: talks referendum
Sorry, my question isn't that clear... I don't mean the politicians...(they would say yes im sure...lol...) ..Perhaps they (ROC/TRNC) could hold a referendum asking the people.....do you want the talks to continue yes or no....

Re: talks referendum
The talks really should continue until a solution is either found or put to the Cypriot people to decide their future.
Without any talks the future of the Cypriot people will stay undecided.

nuffsaid.
This has already been done, the Greeks voted OXI when the Turkish Cypriots voted yes.
This was the ANAN PLAN, nothing has changed.

Too many people making a living from the gravy to train to want a solution I am afraid.
The wife keeps complaining I never listen to a word she says ............. or something like that.

Re: talks referendum
I think brian has a good point....I wonder if the general populous really care that much ..perhaps apathy rules...excepting for the politicians et al who as brian suggests... it may not be in their interests to find a solution....the games continue

Re: talks referendum
I apologise for my hostility toward you, but there is a particularly odious character who goes by the forum name 'Nuffsaid' on the Cyprus Mail comments section. He is a pro-GC Turk-hating troll who pounces on any commentator who may open-minded toward any balanced or TC supporting position. I am sorry if you are not him.
