Wood Burner

Some Fig trees have just been chopped down on the site where I live & have been told I can take them if I want.

Is this wood any good for a log burner?

It all needs cutting to size then I would store it till next winter but I don't want to do this if it is no good or tars up the chimney, etc.

I use Carob & Olive at present.

Thanks for any advice.

It is ok but needs to be well seasoned as it has a type of "latex" sap would suggest more than one year.

Keep all your skin covered while chopping it up my husband cut down a fig tree in the summer & took his top off as it was so hot - he ended up with really bad burns all over his arms & torso.

Wow, I think I'll give it a miss & stick with Olive & Carob.

Thanks for the advice.
