Can anyone recommend where I can get our microwave repaired? I think the element has gone.

Hi there,
we had ours repaired at TEKTAN IN Girne 0392 8152441 , make sure you get a price as you might find it cheapet to buy a new one!

If you are West of Girne, I would recommend Hay Pem opposite Green Petrol on the coast road in Alsancak.

If you are on the East side, the electronics shop next to Funky Divas hairdressers in Karakum are reliable and not expensive.

Doesn't a microwave have a magnetron?

You're not wrong - but on the basis that it could be a 'combination / convection' type, with an additional heating element, I refrained from commenting

I thought that if I was too helpful and knowledgeable, I might get lumbered with the job!

- And my days of lugging Microwave ovens about are definitely over!

One of the really great things that we love about the TRNC is that the end of the stick handed to them on a plate (mixing up my metaphors very nicely here I think) has forced them to be resourceful when it comes to repairing items that would often be scrapped in the UK/Europe....

However the power surges and voltage fluctuations do take their toll on microwaves we have found.
