Virus warning
If you receive an email from PayPal informing you that there has been a change made to your registered email account, and that you need to download a form informing them that you have not made this change, and if you do not your account will be cancelled, delete it as it contains a virus.

Re: Virus warning
Yes thanks. I normally ignore these, or go direct to the relevant web page and make enquiries. most of the e mails received are scams especially when they are not addressed to you as an individual, nor make reference to you as an indiv idual. Better safe than sorry

I receive loads of emails such as this for Paypal and banks and even the Government websites. The best way to deal with it is if you have an account with them and so are not sure whether it may be real, simply close the email and access the relevant company website direct and check your account. Never access it from an email, even when it is really from them.

I would recommend Trusteers Rapport software free from http://www.trusteer.com or from most UK bank websites, it is a nifty piece of security software that ensures you are only logging on to genuine secure sites when entering passwords etc. I have used it for over three years now with no problems, it even works with turkish bank sites. Also make sure any secure sites you are logging onto have a web address starting https:// the s designates it as a secure site.

I think the best thing to remember is, banks, government departments, tax men, pension offices, lottery, paypal, (the list is endless) do not contact you via Email.

Re: Virus warning
Unfortunately Sophie some UK goverment departments inc tax and customs will only contact you by email and this we are told is the aim of all future government communication which is going to make it difficult for those either without/or non-users of the internet going forward, paypal also contact you by email so it is important to make sure you have good up to date security in place.

Re: Virus warning
the best way i found is i have one email address that i only use for banks etc, then when your getting emails to the other accounts you know just delete it, it always helps to have more than one address anyway
