My friend is flying to Ercan today and there is a 2 hr delay she just texted me, so if you are meeting anyone at 19.45 it will be very late!

Would the airline happen to Turkish Airlines.?

My wife had a similar problem on Monday flying from Birmingham-5 hour delay after missing the connection flight.

She was not a happy bear!

Yes it was the arranged pick up didnt happen either so she had to pay for a taxi not a happy lady.

The same happend to another friend this week with the same airline-I just wonder if they are over booking the first connection flight knowing they have plenty of seats on the later flight.

Seems to be happening quite often with very little concern to passengers.

No problem for us from Manchester on Sunday 7th arrived 15 mins early 1 hr transfer only took us 20 mins from arriving to getting through departures to the gate, no security checks.
