Hi
We have lived in TRNC for 6 months and have a car that we are hoping to take over on the car ferry for a holiday in Turkey at some point.
Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how much insurance is extra for instance or has anyone any experience of personally doing this or know anyone that maybe has or can offer us any sort of info please
Taking a TRNC car to mainland for a holiday, is it possible.

Yes it is possible, we take our car over for our holidays in Turkey.
You have to go to the car tax office 10 days before leaving with your passport, they will charge about 200TL to EXPORT the car, this is just a formality to raise more money.
You will be able to get insurance at Tasacu on arrival.
On your return you will have no problems driving back in.

Karmels, is the insurance you purchased just to drive in Turkey or does it cover the rest of Europe? Is it also a rip off? It was when I drove out from UK some while ago.
How long does it last and how much?? Third party or fully comp??
I wondered if it was possible to obtain insurance here at a sensible price?
I imagine a visa is required as well??

Before we left the TRNC we upgraded our fully comp insurance to cover Turkey.
When you arrive you buy 3rd party insurance for Turkey, along with the upgrade we were fully comp in Turkey.
You would have to talk to your insurance company here to find out the regs for the rest of europe.
We are booked to return to Turkey in April next year for 6 months. Looking forward to the mountains ( Yala ) were we go when it gets hot.
