TRNC & Turkish Lottery
Please can anyone tell me where the lottery tickets are on sale. Is there anywhere in Alsancak or do I have to go to Girne.
Many thanks

I don't think that there is anywhere as the Turkish workers at my work had me buy them in Istanbul for them .

We buy from the booth just outside the main carp park in Kyrenia or on the left down the High Street. You can buy a share of a ticket or a whole ticket. Good luck, I am on commission!

In previous years they have been available for purchase at the newsagent opposite the round tower in Girne. Haven't checked this year though.

I get mine from there too. 20TL for the TRNC one. 50tl for a full turkish one, they are called Milli Piyango.
Just a word of warning. Don't rely on newspapers or internet sites to check if you have won. Last year my friend checked online, she was asked to enter her ticket number and was told she had won the jackpot.
Her husband entered a made up number to check and was told the same.
Best to get the results from a sheet available from the newspaper shop where you buy the tickets. He is very helpful.
Good Luck

The newsagent (it's also the Post Office or next to it??) in Karaoglanoglu is an agent for both lotteries. There is an illuminated sign outside which says Milli Piyangosu.
