Lost/Found Dog
I have been asked to alert members that a small Yorkshire Terrier like dog, of a brown colour, and well groomed, has been found wandering in the lower Ilgas Road area near "Green Heights" gardens, Alsancak. I have no further descriptive detail but it appears certain that it's GPS instincts are knackered at this time. If anyone can give any information which may lead to a reunion with the owner(s) please telephone Arthur (the current (and hopefully temporary) honorary dog walker and kennel Maid!) 0533 848 7435.

Re: Lost/Found Dog
Apologies for an addendum amendment. My informant (colour blind?) now advises me that the dog is a white/cream coloured Cyprus Terrier/Poodle wearing a red collar.
Keith Caley refers to me as "Barking" but I can spot the difference between a dog and a Chameleon

Re: Lost/Found Dog
I have a photo of the dog. If Keith would be kind enough to upload it for me. Keith.? The dog is a young cyprus terrier, obviously well looked after. As deputy dawg says, it is wearing a red leather collar with a disk on it. Cannot read anything on the disk, though it looks like there may have been something there a while ago that has worn off. The dog is very friendly and obviously used to and loves people.

I don't think it has gone far and someone has obviously looked after it well as it's just had a close cut for the summer heat. Do you think it could it have escaped from a car visiting Green Heights?

Good thought Sophie. I will take a picture down and ask them to put it up on the wall.

The other thought is that it could have done a runner during the very noisy fireworks from Escape Beach. Our dogs were terrified and I know at least 2 dogs did runners but were older than the one you have with you and found their way back home after 24 and 36 hours respectively.

As far as I know, nobody has come forward to claim this beautiful, affectionate little dog. Could she have been dumped? Why, Bigbadbob? are you looking for an addition to your family?

Hi Allietoo no we are not looking for another we actually rescued an identical dog from getting a kicking in Supreme carpark 5 weeks ago so we now have 3 dogs but at least we are keeping this topic towards the top.

Re: Lost/Found Dog
Thank you to Ailletoo and Keith for providing and processing the documentary evidence regarding my colour blind friend's quest to return the brown/white/cream, Yorkshire/Cyprus, Terrier/Poodle/Chameleon to the owner. He now advises me that it has made an escape from the place of refuge and has bolted into another house near Green Heights. It of course remains possible that she has been abandoned but equally it may be that this cute, beguiling, minx, is taking the pith and treating herself to 24 hour bed/breakfast facilities in the area well knowing where her home is. Hopefully, in time, the truth, and a happy ending will be revealed.

Was it still impossible to decipher what was scratched on the tag? I'm not sure from the photo and this thread whether it's male/female and whether it's a full grown miniature or a puppy. Please keep us up to date but I'd hate to see a dog this size roaming the streets. Sorry you perfectly nice people of Ilgas, referring to your main road as a street!!

Re: Lost/Found Dog
Hi Deputy Dawg, Whereabouts has the dog bolted to? Is she still safe?
Sophie, As far as I know it is a female, young dog. It was not possible to read the tag unfortunately. We are not actually in Ilgas we are in Yesiltepe, closer to the main road than to Ilgas.

Re: Lost/Found Dog
I thought I had posted this before but must have got lost somehow.
The "tag" looks to me very much like those issued by Girne Belediyesi when dogs are registered. If so there should be a number stamped into the reverse side - which shouldn't have worn off. and technically the Belediyesi can identify the owner. A bit late , now, but if the dog does turn up again.
Also people who go to the trouble and expense to register a dog usually care about it , so it is an indication it is lost or strayed rather than abandoned.

Re: Lost/Found Dog
Ailletoo. My source said that he had disappeared into a house also adjacent to Green Heights and he is trying to establish what connection, if any, those there have with the pet. You will appreciate that behind the houses on the road there are scores of properties so it is like needle and haystack until he gets a possible lead (excuse pun). I await more news from Arthur which I will publish. His telephone number is in my earlier post if you want to contact him. In the meantime perhaps Keith has knowledge of where to obtain an atomic microscope, violet light facilities etc so that Arthur can bring forensic skills to the case if and when he again gets sight of the collar disc with the obscure detail ! My bet is that if it can be read it will state "Houdini".

Re: Lost/Found Dog
I think I'm going to stop worrying too much about this little "monster". It seems to me that we're worrying ourselve silly about a little so and so who, behind its paw, is laughing itself silly, and has an "away day" every so often at other peoples expense!!
