Travelling from Larnaca airport to Girne by bus ?

Friends want to try travelling from Larnaca airport to GIrne.
Any tips ?
Cost ?
How many changes of buses ?
How frequent ?

I tend to agree with Keith.

For some strange reason there doesn't appear to be a bus direct to the main bus station in Nicosia. Use the following link http://www.cyprusbybus.com/search.aspx from Larnaca international airport to Dionisiou Solomou Square. You have to change buses with a short walk in between. Then you have to walk to the Lokmaci crossing and out towards Kyrenia gate (Girne kapisi) 15 minutes walk. There is the Kombos dolmus service to Girne just inside the gate in the road opposite MTS tur. They operate approximately every 30 minutes until 6pm - cost 5 TL. Buses on the south side are around 1.5 Euro single, the one from the airport seems to be 8 Euro (Kapnos airport shuttle).

It's perfectly possible. I did it to Lefkosa and the buses or a dolmus(there is a dolmus office near the old Kyrenia Gate) to Girne from there are very easy and frequent.

There is a bus to Larnaca town, you change there to a lefkosa bus. Tell the bus driver you want to go to Ledra Street. You have to walk up Ledra street over the crossing. From there its a 15min walk to the bus station for a bus to Girne.

There is also an airport bus straight to Lefkosa South, you have to take a taxi from the the bus stop to the crossing
