Always check your money before leaving at the exchange shop. Just had an issue with money handed over against money received.

Dont know if it is the same one, but a couple of years ago we had an issue with them. It was when new notes had been introduced which were very similar - tl and euro......... we changed some tl for euros to go over to the south, I always keep them separate, but when I came to use the euros low and behold there were tl notes mixed in amongst them. Went back to the shop on our return, with our Turkish friend who argued on our behalf but they refused to put it right. Have never used it since.
