Holiday Insurance Validity?

Has anyone had experience of claiming on UK holiday insurance in the TRNC?
We have heard that Holiday insurance is not valid here and need to verify this for some family members who are concerned.

We had a concern that European insurance which listed Cyprus as a valid country would not include TRNC. We asked our insurance broker to specifically check as our son does a lot of scuba diving and we wanted to make sure we were covered. They did so and confirmed in writing it was valid. I would recommend your family do the same thing and use an old fashioned broker if they have concerns. Thankfully we've never had to claim!

I claimed in 2003 when my then Wife ended up in Lefkosa hospital.

I cant remember who we were insured with at that time, but they were very good, even arranging a flight home with medical assistance.

However, I would always check with your insurers first.
