we found whiskey joes by accident whilst wandering round the lanes behind the harbour in kyrenia, and thoughtwe would give it a try, normally we do not go to "brit bars" preferring to try to get local atmosphere, however this is a little gem, if you want a little taste of home, the bar has a smallish local menu, but also offers traditional british food, as specials, such as liver and bacon with mash , or pork chops with mash veg and apple sauce,I had the liver and bacons, which was lovely and made an acceptable change from our usual Turkish/Cypriot fare, my wife had steak and chips which she said was very acceptable. The bar is not very big but they do have karaoke and occasional artists, and there is a little courtyard out the back if you wish to eat outside. We found the owner and his wife very friendly and welcoming on our two visits and would thouroughly recommend anyone to go there for an unpretencious meal or just a few drinks. One last point regarding drinks which I know will appeal to British beer drinkers, the bar has John Smiths Smooth, and Murphys stout, on draught for 6tl (£2) A PINT. ...Try whisky Joes you will like it.
