5TL TO THE POUND ?
Anyone else noticed ?. At Poundland everything has gone up to 5tl. Only reason we noticed was when we were paying and it cost an extra 12tl for our shopping. Did not see any signs around about the increase. Manager explained because of cost of electric etc. Correct me if I am wrong but is there any other country where you could get away with calling your shop that name.

If it was called snowland would you be demanding it be full of snow? I am sorry but your comment re the shops name are not appropriate, this is North Cyprus and the currency is Turkish Lira so the name is not reflective of the price of goods.
Do you mean Mr Pound as regards the actual shop? If so there are a number of signs regarding the price increases, the first being on the front door plus others around the shop. We were there yesterday.

Mr Pound also posted the rise on Facebook, its due to the rate of exchange. They were most apologetic.

The 4TL shop in Alsancak was still 4TL 2 days ago. Have some thought for the local working people. Many years ago working at a university in Ankara the Lira element of my salary depreciated by 40% in 2 years. I got half my salary in Sterling but the Turkish staff really struggled.
